Industry Prospects£º
- The natural gas reserves of China are mainly located in the
western part and the current accumulated proven natural gas
geology reserves are 38,000 billion cubic metres. China has
made it a target to achieve significant development of the natural
gas industry in the coming decade. It is expected that the annual
natural gas output will reach 700,000 billion cubic metres by
2010 as the proportion of natural gas in the non-renewable energy
structure of China will then be increased to 10%. Cities located
along the West-to-East Gas Pipeline and the Chongqing to Wuhan
Gas Pipeline has, on after another, commenced their planning
and construction of city natural gas distribution pipeline network
coupled with favourable policies in anticipation of gas supply
when the construction of pipelines is done and the distribution
of gas is available in 2005. Based on the aforesaid, urban gas
industry sees a promising prospect for development.
